Scoring is a very important part of the event. Many times, the Scorer is responsible for preparing the schedule for Horse Inpsection, Dressage, Marathon and Cones. It is very important that the person/persons responsible are knowledgeable about combined driving and have a program that is designed to handle all of the intricacies of the marathon phase of the event. The Scorer will need a quiet space, away from the confusion of the show office. Many times, there is a back office to the show office, which works very well, as long as their is a door you can close so that the scorer can work with minimal distractions. The show should plan to provide a copy machine as well, usually this can be shared with the show office. Another important feature is that there should be good communication between the scorer/scoring office, the show manager and show secretary.
